SCARLETPOOL
brown tabby she-cat with scarlet colored eyes
brown tabby she-cat with scarlet colored eyes
shadowclan, warrior, 30 moons, she-cat.
APPEARANCE:
PERSONALITY:
+ DETERMiNED ~
Scarletpool is a very goal-oriented young cat. While she is sometimes known to have her head in the clouds, she knows what she wants from life. To become a great warrior, and possibly leader, and basically be better than her fallout parents. With a firm paw and sound mind, she reaches for her goals by any means necessary.
+ RELiABLE ~
Reliableheart should have been Scarletpool's name, however it is not. She may be rough around the edges but when a job needs to be done Scarletpool is one of the best cat's to call on for the job. Provided the job doesn't involve getting her paws wet. Sometime's others mistake this for kindness, but make no mistake this she-cat has her own interest in mind.
+ EMPATHETiC ~
She's had a tough kithood, and as such that made her pretty bitter for the most part. However, she shows empathy well with others. Pain she recognizes, and while this side isn't seen too often in her, it's there nonetheless.
- SARCASTiC ~
Another good name for her would have been Sarcasmtongue. 90% of what comes out of this pretty little cats maw is witty and quite to bite. Mostly this is a ruse to lead others off her trail of a nightmarish past, but more often then not she just enjoys annoying others.
- CONCEiTED ~
Surprisingly Scarletpool is rather conceited. She shows off in front of other's all the time. But then again, when you have accomplished what she has without getting caught, you'd be pretty cocky too. Though it's not something to boast about, having a little confidence can never hurt. Can it?
- DiSTANT ~
She may seem cool on the cover and act friends with some cats in her clan, that's furthest from the truth. Scarletpool is in fact, very distant. Afraid to let anyone in to harm her she hasn't made any true friendships or thoughts of a mate. Letting someone in only can cause one pain, at least so she believes.
HISTORY:
Scarlet, Sky, Orchid & Coal ;;
On a cool night in leaf-bare two rogues by the names of Orchid and Coal bore two little brown she-kits. One had eyes the color of the sky, and one had eyes colored scarlet. Naturally, their names were Sky and Scarlet. The kits could have been twins, and with the way they acted, they should have, were it not for their eye differences. Their mother, Orchid, was to blame for Sky’s blue eyes. The nasty old she-cat was an older tabby, her blue eyes frightening. Their father, Coal, was as dark as the night with scarlet eyes that made most cats flee in an instant.
It may come as no surprise that Scarlet and Sky’s parents weren’t the parental kind. They were rogues after all, and most were quite selfish in their ways. The fact they even bore kits was unusual enough in the small band of rogues that collect around the surrounding clans territory. In this way, the kits had no idea what sort of world they were born into.
Coal was working together a larger group called Crimson Night. Coal was the leader of the band of misfits that was organized to attack the clans. Coal believed that the lands here had been in control of the clans for too long, and he wanted to make it clear that the rogues and loners of this place would no longer bend and sway to the precious clans ways.
The cats were savage and cruel, including Orchid. Scarlet and Sky were trained from a very young age to learn how to hunt, fight, and kill. Often there would be tournaments held where the cats of Crimson Night would kidnap a kittypet from the surrounding area and force them into a battle with the fighters in this group, likely leading to the death of the kittypet.
It was at such an event that Scarlet and Sky participated in when Sky was injured severely. Scarlet, knowing nothing other than tooth and claw at the time, disposed of the kittypet. Scarlet tried her best to help her sister, but Coal wouldn’t have it. Coal claimed that any cat too weak to overcome such a task was useless to him and Crimson Night.
A voice in the crowd for the tournament broke out. It was Orchid. She had started a simple chant, to kill Sky. All around cats yowls filled the air with the horrible words. Scarlet was petrified and unable to move and watched in horror as Coal took her sister’s life right before her. His own daughter. And her own mother had started it off. Her father’s words echoed through her mind, as he spoke before leaving. “Life is fragile. If you cannot fight for your life, you are simply in the way.”
Scarlet fought back tears and waited as everyone disbanded. When no other cat was in sight she mourned over her sister and buried her. Scarlet’s gut told her that this was wrong. All of it. That night she plotted her way out of this filthy “home”.
The next night Scarlet called for a battle, for which she could challenge any opponent. Coal agreed and the tournament began, however when she announced that she wished to fight Coal many cats began to scoff and laugh at her. Scarlet merely smiled. Coal did not seemed surprised by the request and soon the battle began.
It was a long fight to be sure. One of the longest Crimson Night had ever seen. Many cats placed bets on who would win using fresh-kill as currency. It was sickening as far as Scarlet was concerned. But through all the turmoil Scarlet came out victorious. It was then that she somehow gained leadership, but she wanted nothing to do with it. She ordered the cats to disband, and considering the fight they had witnessed, most complied. Strangely, Orchid was never present during this. Or at least she never let herself be known to her daughter.
By now Scarlet was 22 moons old. Still young and fit. With her old life behind her she decided to make anew somewhere else. She thought of the clans that Crimson Night sought to destroy. She scurried into ShadowClan’s territory then and met with Duststar, the leader of ShadowClan at the time.
While she didn’t want anyone to know about her past, she told Duststar everything and asked him to keep it private. Duststar saw immense strength and courage in Scarlet and allowed her to join his clan. While she needed little training she did become Scarletpaw.
She was warriored shortly before Duststar’s death, and while she has no ShadowClan blood most cats do not question her loyalty. She learned loyalty long ago, though it may have been to the wrong team. Still, Scarletpool has told none other than Duststar her secret past, and she’d rather keep it that way.
What of her beliefs? While everyone has told her about StarClan and stories of the great warriors past she doesn’t know what to think about it. She’d like to think that maybe some sort of paradise could await her after death, but with her tragic upbringing she finds it hard to believe something so nice could exist. Though she likes to think that maybe Sky is up there somewhere, keeping watch over her.
What’s she doing now? Now she just tries to keep herself out of everyone’s way only doing work when asked. Being under the radar is fine by her, since she was practically royalty in Crimson Night. However she does have some ambitions to being leader. Could her father’s cold blooded spirit be guiding her down
